Back into Flatties after 25 years of working cockers and Labs. I have a 7 month old Working Flatcoat out of the Societies Novice Winning Dog, Feather in my Cap at Higgscroft, he is half Scandinavian breeding and on the UK side from the top working kennel Mahinda. Hopefully I can do him justice. I first worked with Flatcoats in the RAF Police as explosive dogs in the 80s, we need to keep the working side alive. Dual purpose dogs with the looks and confirmation with the brains to work would still be the best thing, hopefully there will still be dogs that can do both. We must not let show people change our working gundogs like they have in Springers, Cockers and Clumber Spaniels.
